NetStar Australia accredited under new Cisco Managed Services Channel Program
11 November 2007
NetStar Australia today announced it has been recognised and certified under Cisco’s new Cisco Managed Services Channel Program.
Oliver Descoeudres, Marketing Director for NetStar Australia, said, “This is a great achievement for NetStar, as it will be the first Systems Integration partner in Australia to be recognised under this scheme.”
The certification recognises NetStar’s track record in combining Cisco advanced technologies with value-added services to create and deliver high-value Managed Service offerings. It enables NetStar to deliver and support managed services throughout the world, and to provide enhanced service offerings to existing multinational customers.
Specifically, NetStar achieved the premium Cisco designations in Managed Unified Communications, Managed Security Firewall and Managed Security IDS/IPS.
The certification involved rigorous operational and security testing. For this, NetStar demonstrated the required resources, systems, and procedures to deploy, manage, and maintain customer systems in all locations where the managed service is available. The program’s entry criterion is based on the Information Technology Infrastructure Library® (ITIL) framework of best practices.
Ongoing certification will require a rigorous annual assessment of NetStar’s Global NetCentre (network operation centre). In addition, the managed services sold to customers must include a service level agreement with a minimum term of one year. NetStar has been certified to deliver solutions across routing, security (Firewall and IPS) and Unified Communications.
Oliver Descoeudres, Marketing Director for NetStar Australia, said, “NetStar has been delivering managed services around Cisco solutions since 1999, and in this time, we have grown to over 100 customers with sites across 41 countries. This endorsement by Cisco under the new Cisco Managed Services Channel Program gives us enhanced credibility in delivering true value-added solutions, combined with the highest possible service levels. We are very proud of this achievement and we look forward to continued growth and success working with Cisco in this market”.
The Cisco Managed Services Channel Program is the industry’s first global managed services channel program designed to reward partners for delivering a wide spectrum of managed services offerings. The introduction of the Managed Services Channel Program, in conjunction with significant enhancements to the existing Cisco Powered Program, provides a framework to accelerate the development and delivery of managed services through Cisco partners.
“The market is moving towards the broad adoption of managed services; companies are shifting from managing their own IT infrastructure to buying technology as a service,” said Edison Peres, vice president of Worldwide Channels at Cisco. “Based on a consistent, global framework, the Cisco Managed Services Channel Program will allow NetStar to more easily meet customers’ growing demand for managed services in established and emerging markets.”
In addition to the Cisco Powered Managed Service level designations, NetStar has also attained the Legacy Managed Service level, offering Managed Connectivity/ Managed Router Service.
